The latest update for Clarii PRO C20 is here. By expanding the internal sound engine parameters and opening up the hardware's physical inputs for custom mapping, this version provides the technical flexibility required for specific performance and studio configurations.
What's New in ClariiOS 3.1?
ClariiOS 3.1 introduces a range of exciting new features, reconfiguration possibilities, and refined settings:
Sound Enhancement
- Tone Adjustment: Control the brightness of your sound directly. We have recalibrated the defaults—setting them to 50 for most synth sounds to provide a warmer, more natural character, while others remain at 100 for maximum brilliance.
- Texture Control: You can now manually adjust mechanical artifacts (breath, bow, key, and fret noise) for 26 onboard sounds to achieve the desired level of realism.
- Redesigned Pop Soprano Sax: Experience a newly sampled Soprano Sax sound with greater presence and more responsive vibrato control.
Hardware & Fingering Reconfiguration
- Custom RP Keys: RP1 and RP2 keys can now be re-assigned to semitone shifts (±1 or ±2), specific articulations, or custom MIDI CC with press value.
- Fixed-Interval Fingerings: New EWI-style fingering modes have been added where each keys correspond to fixed intervals (e.g., RP3 key always triggers a whole-step drop).
- New Saxophone Fingering: We have added a dedicated Saxophone fingering that imitates the traditional acoustic layout.
- Optimized Bite Response: This improvement applies both when playing onboard sounds and when using MIDI mode to control external software synths.
- Elevation Mapping: Assign elevation function (tilt) to trigger vibrato, portamento, or articulation switching for more expressive performances.
- Fine-Tuned Key Delay: We have significantly increased the precision of the key delay setting. Moving from the previous 8-level system to 19 levels, you now have 1ms increments for the critical 0–10ms range (0ms, 1ms, 2ms... 10ms), followed by 5ms and 10ms steps up to 70ms.
- * Key: You can now use the * key to cycle through your sounds.
Note: To use the * key to cycle through user sounds, ensure the * key in each subsequent user sound is also set to "Next Sound"; otherwise, the switching sequence will be interrupted.
Expanded MIDI & System Integration
- Flexible MIDI Routing: Assign breath signals to CC2, CC7, CC11, CC74, Aftertouch, or custom CCs. A new toggle for motion CC allows for a cleaner data stream by disabling unwanted motion data.
- [+]/[-] Key Mapping: [+] and [-] keys can be assigned to switch between Program Change or MIDI Channel, allowing for faster navigation within your MIDI environment.
- Standalone MIDI Mode: MIDI mode can now be accessed without an active USB or BLE handshake, streamlining pre-performance setups.
- Data Management: Full support for USB backup and restore, allowing you to save and migrate user banks, custom fingerings and all settings.
Refined UI & Reliability
The update also introduces several "quality of life" technical fixes, including accidental press prevention (using [+]/[-] to exit favorites), global octave shift setting, and improved voice command accuracy. Menus now scroll more smoothly and display default values for each parameter. You can use FN + ↑/↓ to jump instantly between different menu sections.
Update Note: For users in Japan, the initial startup volume of the voice guide has been lowered for a more discreet power-on experience.
The Updated Clarii App Experience
To access these features, ensure you are using the latest version of the Clarii App, now fully compatible with Clarii PRO.
App Update: The Clarii App update is operated via the App Store or Google Play. It is free to download and is now fully compatible with Clarii PRO.
Clarii PRO Update: Once the Clarii App is updated, connect your Clarii PRO to the App wirelessly. Navigate to the device's connection page in the Clarii App to start the ClariiOS upgrade. The ClariiOS update will be pushed in two consecutive stages: first V3.1.9 (wireless update), then V3.1.10 (update with data cable). You must update twice to successfully finish the full ClariiOS 3.1 upgrade.
Note: When upgrading to V3.1.10 in Clarii App, please ensure you are using a data transfer cable rather than a "charge-only" cable. If the upgrade fails, please try using a different cable, or restart both the Clarii App and your Clarii PRO. If the update still fails, please visit our Support Page for an alternative update method.
New Video Manuals: We have integrated a series of video manuals directly into the App. These tutorials provide visual guidance on mastering the Clarii PRO C20.
Remote Configuration: Clarii PRO settings can now be conveniently managed and customized through the App's updated interface.
